Simple Guidlines of Public Speaking Fears

If we all agree something is the fear we feel the majority go to the public. All studies point to the same effect: we are afraid of ridicule, and in almost everywhere we are very afraid of ridicule. The best way to overcome is the practice, and think that we are leading a group of friends. We are not all great orators, but we can be a pleasant and effective speakers, if we get our message in a friendly, clear and effective.

To achieve our goal, here are some basic guidelines to consider:

     1. We know when to start and when finish, and even improvise. If we see that the public is very boring, we can try to shorten the speech.

     2. What we mean and transmit. It should be clear the goal of discourse and its key points for getting the message correctly and that is understandable by the public.

     3. How to deliver. We must “interpret” the paper so convincing that the public receives and creates the message. One must know how to capture their attention and keep it.

One way to improve our public discourse or action, is to practice. Front of the mirror, recording on a tape and listening, with friends who can make critical, etc. But we must not forget the main protagonist: the voice. We must protect the pitch (module and direct His voice), tone (light and relaxed), volume (or low, you can not hear anything, not screaming, scaring the public), rhythm (do not talk very slow, or quick and eager to finish as soon as possible) and vocalization (pronounce correctly, you will understand better.) Avoid pauses, stutters, repetitions, hesitations and lengthening of words
